All
digital adverts transmitted to Media24 magazines
must be in the PDF format. |
| 2 |
The
PDF file is to be saved as a complete composite
PRESS optimised PDF file and must contain ALL relevant
elements i.e. fonts, hi-res scans, logo's and EPS
graphics embedded in the file. |
| 3 |
All
scans and graphics must be saved in the CMYK colour
space before embedding in the PDF file. RGB files
are not acceptable. All separations must be colour
corrected according to the hues of European standard
inks and the "whiteness" limitations of the various
magazine substrates, i.e. 56gr rotogloss (Huisgenoot,
You, Drum). |
| 4 |
All
scans and graphic elements in the PDF file must
be scanned and saved with a minimum resolution of
300 dpi before transmission to the printer. |
| 5 |
All
digital advertisements in the PDF format to be transmitted
to Media24 magazines must first be pre-flighted
and validated before transmission to the printer.
This implies that the pre-flighting of the PDF advert
takes place at the point of creation and the creator
of the file assumes full responsibility for the
validity of the file. |
| 6 |
Digital
advertisement material created for magazine printing
must conform to European Standard Magazine specifications.
Colour files are to be submitted in CMYK with a
total ink coverage not exceeding 320 with the black
component at 85%. |
| 7 |
Digital
files created should ensure that the first printing
tone is 7% and an open top-end of between 90% (yellow),
92% (magenta), 96% (cyan) and 85% (black) transfer
consistently to the printing process. |
| 8 |
All
digital files should include crop marks outside
the bleed area and trim area clearly indicating
final trim dimensions. |
| 9 |
EPS
files created in Corel Draw or FreeHand that contain
text must first be converted to curves before being
embedded in the final PDF ad document. |
| 10 |
Use
only Type 1 fonts. Note that if TrueType fonts are
used serious problems will be encountered when attempting
to embed certain type faces in the PDF. |
| 11 |
All
trapping instructions should be applied to the digital
advert at application level before distilling the
document to PDF. |
| 12 |
A
colour proof at 100% of the same PDF sent to the
printer for printing must follow the digital file.
This file will be accepted by the printer as the
customer approved contract colour proof. |
| 13 |
If
the digital advert supplier neglects to supply the
printer with a colour proof at 100%, the printer
will not accept responsibility for the colour validity
of the printed result. |
| 14 |
Please
adhere to advertisement type areas, trim areas and
bleed areas. |
