is an opportunity to glue an insert card, sticker
or booklet onto an advertisement.

The carrier page must be a minimum of a full-page
advertisement.
+ Prior consultation
with Media24 Family magazines is necessary with
regard to the positioning and manner of adhesion
and of folding of the card/booklet.

This can be inserted by the Ferag onto a page. |

Card size (A5) 210mm x 145mm maximum and 100mm x
120mm minimum. |

Sachet size credit card size and bigger. |

16 pages maximum on a 90gsm paper grammage and minimum

card must have a spine and cannot be con folded. |

Position on paper will be as follows: if an imaginary
line is drawn, 30mm (top, bottom & sides) it forms
a rectangle of 150mm wide by 215mm deep. The insert
can be positioned anywhere specified within that

Coupons
are an excellent method of discounting various
products either within your advertising or as
an insert in the magazine.
Coupons
can generate consumer interest, draw attention
to your product and move your product quickly
off the shelf.

Coupons can be supplied like a loose insert reply
card and the same specifications as given in the
reply cards section. |

/ Scent/fragrance card
|
|
|
Fragrance
cards and scent strips offer the ideal opportunity
to introduce your target market with a new aftershave,
perfume, eau du toilette or soap.
The
fragrance cards and scent strips can be attached
to your advertisement or bound with a minimum
of a full-page advertisement into the magazine.

Fragrance cards or scent strips can be inserted
loose or bound. |

They are handled in the same manner as the reply
cards. |

To avoid the fragrance reacting with the ink it
is advisable to supply fragrance cards or scent
strips in cellophane or plastic. |

If the scent strip or fragrance card is packed in
cellophane or plastic it must be fitted correctly
and must be anti-static and can be done by hand
only. |

f. / Regional distribution
|
|
|
You
can reach your target market in specified regions
through reply card inserts or supplements. You
can test a new product in a specific region before
going national.
Inserts
can be selectively distributed to specified regions
eg. Inserts in the Drum Zulu editions can be distributed
exclusively in the Kwazulu/Natal area only.

Supplements
are classified as inserts consisting of 4 pages
or more. They are inserted either loose or bound
into the magazine. They are a unique and effective
alternative to the traditional direct mail distribution.
You

4.
SACHETS |
 |
|
The
most convincing communication with your target
market is for them to test your product by inducing
trial. With a sachet attached to your advertisement
can literally make your product come alive. Your
advertisement immediately gets more credibility
and impact.
With
a minimum of a half page advertisement the sachet
can be attached by hand onto the advertisement.

Media24 magazines for stress testing before insertion
and 20 samples must be supplied for testing must
approve all sachets and samples. |

Pressure testing for use (1 500 kg for 6 seconds). |
| /
Volume of liquid must first not contain more than
7ml (If larger sachet is supplied this can be more
but it must first be approved by Media24 magazines). |

Sealing area must be 7mm wide from the edge of the
sachet. |

Sachets must be inserted in different positions
in the same magazine to prevent bulking. |

5.
BAGGING |
 |
|
Bagging
gives the effect of value added to the consumer
and the advertiser. Bagging occurs when a product
sample or special insert is inserted into a magazine
and can ensure impact.

|

Bagging must be done for the fortnightly and monthly
magazines or subscriber copies for weekly magazines. |
| /
Bagging can only be done with an insertion of a
supplement/folder, heavy sachets and product samples. |

If bagging is already planned in a certain magazines,
shared costs can be negotiated with Media24 magazines. |

Bagging will be subject to production capacity -
outsource at client's cost |

6.
RUN-ONS |
 |
|
Run-ons
are an effective method of stretching your advertising
rands to the maximum. Run-ons can be used to communicate
to your markets directly through the medium of
direct mail to extend your magazine campaign or
they can be used for store display.

Machine run-ons in existing magazines can only be
done up to 1000 copies and must be ordered before
the printing of the magazine commences. |

Proof prints can be done on the proof press on 100
grams paper. |

ACETATES |

Acetates
are an ideal method of drawing attention to your
ad on a particular page

9.
CONDITIONS & BOOKING SPECIFICATIONS |
|
| 1.
/ Media24 magazines
must first approve all samples or examples of "Creative
Advertising Opportunities" inserts before the advertiser
commences with production. If any insert is not
supplied according to the given specifications then
we cannot execute the insert instruction. |
| 2.
/ Please ensure that when inserts are delivered
to Paarl Gravure that they are supplied properly
packed in firm boxes/containers face-up on pallets.
It must be clearly marked as to the number of inserts,
the publication name and cover date of publication.
|
| 3.
/ Please ensure that
all inserts are in layers of 200 for 4 pages, 100
for 8 pages, etc. This is an important procedure.
If this is not adhered to, it can lead to the insert
being delayed and in turn not inserted correctly
as originally requested. |
| 4.
/ All inserts must be stacked onto pallets
correctly. If inserts are supplied turned due to
thickness , please ensure that they are not turned
more than 3 times and in amounts of at least 20
inserts or turn. In the event of incorrect stacking/turning
can result in the insert being delayed. Costs for
restacking/turning will be charged to the client.

/ Media24 magazines will not take responsibility
for any shortages of inserts or samples supplied. |
| 6.
/ Contents of inserts are subject to the
approval of the editor and must be in the same language
medium of the magazine concerned. |

/ All non-standard
inserts must first be supplied for testing on our
machines. They will be subject to a quote from Paarl
Gravure. There is a premium on these inserts for
the disruption in the production process. |
| 8.
/ Please note that
we can only take a maximum of 4 machine inserts
in all the weekly magazines. A maximum of two hand
insert can be accepted into all the fortnightly/monthly
magazines. |
| 9.
/ Sachets/product samples cannot be inserted
into subscriber copies. Other/extra inserts can
however be inserted into subscriber copies. |
